Errachidia to Fes or Marrakech Private Desert Tour 3 Days Are you looking for a desert tour from Errachidia? This desert tour from Errachidia ends in Fes or Marrakech and lasts 3 days. You’ll ride a camel through the desert and spend the first night in a desert camp. Choose the Marrakech ending for the Todgha Gorge and Dades Gorge and the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou (shown below), or the Fes ending for a full day in Merzouga with a nomadic Berber family and Gnawa music. If the itineraries don’t match what you’re looking for, get in touch and we’ll customise your tour.
We start your 3 day desert tour from Errachidia with a pick-up at Moulay Ali Cherif Airport or anywhere you are in Errachidia, then travel along the Ziz Valley, stopping at a panoramic viewpoint for fabulous pictures. You then continue to the Erg Chebbi dunes via Erfoud, the capital of fossils.
On arrival at Merzouga, an experienced camel man and camels are waiting to carry you across the fabulous dunes of Merzouga, a ride of around half an hour to reach the camp. You spend the night with locals under the stars.
Overnight: Desert camp, Merzouga
You start the second day with breakfast in the camp and a camel trek back to Merzouga, then begin the journey to the Dades Gorges via Rissani, the foundation of the current ruling family and a hub of caravan routes, where you stop before leaving for the Todra Gorges to walk beneath the 300-metre-high cliffs. You arrive in the Dades Gorges in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Fes route alternative: a full day exploring the Merzouga desert by 4×4, visiting a nomadic family near the Algeria border and Khamlia village for Gnawa music, overnight in Merzouga.
Overnight: Hotel/riad in the Dades Gorges
You start the last day with a walk in the Dades Gorges, then go to Ouarzazate to visit the Atlas Studios. After the visit, you drive to the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and location for Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Game of Thrones.
After lunch in Ait Ben Haddou village, you head toward Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260 m), stopping at a panoramic viewpoint, and reach your hotel/riad in Marrakech in the evening.
Fes route alternative: travel along the Ziz Valley to Midelt (lunch), the cedar forest of Azrou for Barbary apes, and Ifrane, before a drop-off in Fes.
