Your tour begins with a convenient pick-up from wherever you’re staying in Marrakech. Leaving the city, you travel southeast through the High Atlas Mountains, seeing charming Berber villages and stopping for great photos at beautiful viewpoints.
You have lunch at Ait Ben Haddou village, where you also explore the old Kasbah, recognised by UNESCO since 1987 and featured in films such as Prince of Persia, Gladiator, and the series Game of Thrones. After a short drive to Ouarzazate, you can stop at the biggest studio in Africa, then head to the Dades Gorge through the pretty Valley of Roses. In the Dades Valley you’ll see the “monkey fingers” rock formations and a panoramic view before heading to your hotel.

Begin your day with a delightful breakfast, then take a scenic drive along the beautiful Dades and Todra Rivers, surrounded by green palm groves and authentic Berber villages. Your first stop is the incredible Todra Gorge in Tinghir, one of the most breathtaking canyons in the world. Afterward you continue toward the Merzouga desert.
On the way to the Erg Chebbi dunes, your driver/guide will suggest stopping at a traditional Berber shop for pictures in Berber clothes at no cost. On arrival in Merzouga, you set off on an unforgettable camel excursion into the heart of the desert. As the sun goes down, enjoy the view and try sandboarding, then retreat to a luxury desert camp where a delicious dinner awaits.

An early wake-up lets you watch a stunning sunrise from a nearby dune. After a tasty breakfast at the camp, your exploration of the Merzouga desert begins. A 4×4 SUV takes you to meet the Berber nomads who live behind the dunes, who show you how they live. You’ll also visit the hidden village of Mefis, listen to Gnawa music in Khamlia village, and see the Lake of Birds if it happens to be full.
After lunch you head to your riad to check in and enjoy some free time, whether for a swim or a walk to the nearby dunes. Later you have dinner and spend the night at your riad. You can also choose to spend another night at the desert camp if you’d like.

After a tasty breakfast at your riad, you begin the journey back to Marrakech, this time through the Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest. Along the way you stop in Agdez to enjoy a panoramic view of the valley full of palm trees.
You’ll also have the chance to stop in Ouarzazate for a satisfying lunch, then travel back through the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech, where we drop you off at your accommodation. This marks the end of the 4 days Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour.

Certainly. If camel riding doesn’t appeal to you, we can take you to the camp in a comfortable 4×4 instead, at no extra charge.

We use the Toyota Prado Land Cruiser TX, Ford Tourneo Custom, and a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibus for groups of 8 or more, among other comfortable options.

To confirm your reservation we ask for a small deposit, payable by PayPal, bank transfer, or Wise. The balance is due in cash on the first day of the tour, directly to your driver/guide, in euros, US dollars, or the equivalent in dirhams.
