Your 2-day desert tour begins with a pick-up from your riad in Marrakech. We leave early enough to reach the desert in time for the camel ride and the sunset over the Erg Chebbi dunes.
Leaving Marrakech behind, you drive toward Merzouga with stunning views as you cross the High Atlas Mountains. At Ait Ben Haddou you stop at a panoramic viewpoint to see the ancient Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Lunch is at a restaurant along the way. You reach Merzouga in the afternoon, where your camels are waiting to carry you across the dunes, with a stop for the sunset. You arrive at your luxury camp after sundown for dinner, a bonfire, drums, and Berber music.

Waking early is rewarded with a majestic sunrise. After a tasty breakfast you leave the camp by 4×4 for the town of Merzouga, then begin the journey to Fes.

You also stop by the road in a cedar forest near Ifrane, where you may see some Barbary macaques, then continue across the Middle Atlas Mountains.
