Your tour begins with a morning departure from your accommodation in Marrakech. You drive through the High Atlas Mountains to Ait Ben Haddou, seeing traditional Berber villages and stopping at panoramas for pictures.
At Ait Ben Haddou village you visit the antique Kasbah, protected by UNESCO since 1987 and used as a location for famous films including Gladiator, Prince of Persia, and Game of Thrones. After lunch here, you drive toward the Dades Gorges through Ouarzazate and the Valley of Roses. On arrival you can visit the “monkey toes” rock formations before heading to your accommodation.

After a delicious breakfast, you drive along the Todra River, full of palm groves and Berber villages, to the Todra Gorge in Tinghir, one of the most spectacular canyons in the world. Then you travel to the Merzouga desert.
Before arriving at the Erg Chebbi dunes, your driver/guide will suggest visiting a traditional Berber shop for free pictures in a Berber outfit. On arrival in Merzouga, you go on a camel ride into the desert to watch the sunset over the dunes and try sandboarding, then spend the night in a luxury desert camp with a delicious dinner and the magic of the Sahara at night.

An early wake-up is highly recommended to watch a glorious sunrise from the nearest dune. After breakfast at the camp, you begin exploring the Merzouga desert. A 4×4 SUV takes you to the Berber nomads behind the dunes, where you learn about their lifestyle. You’ll also visit a small hidden deserted village called Mefis, listen to Gnawa music in Khamlia village, and visit the Lake of Birds if it’s full.
After lunch you proceed to your riad to check in and enjoy some leisure time, whether a swim or a stroll to the nearby dunes. Later you have dinner and spend the night at your riad. You also have the option to spend the night at the desert camp again if you wish.
